Day Trip Up Island

Mum and Dad wanted to check out more of the island, so we took a day trip to check out a few towns on the coast.

We had lunch at the seaside in Mill Bay.

We enjoyed the Maritime Museum in Cowichan Bay.

 

 

The weather was gorgeous, as usual.

They stopped for an ice cream before heading back on the road.

Dad was very interested in the logging mill we saw in Chemainus.

I was there too. And I have a tan! Yay!

Bonfire Dinner

 Dad collects some firewood as Kyle begins to get sticks ready for hot dogs.

Sarah's been doing art projects with the shells she's found on the beach, so Dad has been searching for them - See the handful he's got in this photo!

Otter Point & Sooke Potholes

Dad had heard that Otter Point (East of Sooke) was a great fishing venue, so he wanted to check it out. We packed a lunch and had a picnic at the beach when we arrived.

After lunch Dad headed up the beach to talk to the many fishermen that were there.

Sarah put her feet in the Ocean - Now she has been in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Mum was so relaxed. I think she could have fallen asleep in the sunshine.

 

 

 

There were tons of boats out on the water.

 

 

On the way home we made a quick pit stop at Sooke Potholes Regional Park to check out the view of the waterfalls.

 

 

Hatley Castle

We took advantage of my flex day from work and checked out Hatley Castle at Royal Roads University this morning.

Bread!

Today was the first day since my parents arrived that Kyle and I had to go back to work, but we had a nice surprise when we got home - Mum and Sarah had tidied up and made a loaf of banana bread and Dad had baked four loaves of home made multi-grain bread! So yummy!

Beacon Hill Park

After checking out the Breakwater, we headed over to Beacon Hill Park.

The gardens are all in full bloom - The colours are gorgeous!

 

Sarah was excited to see the peacocks that live in the park.
