First Anniversary

It's hard to believe we're celebrating our first wedding anniversary already!

It's been a year full of new experiences, tough decisions, adventures, laughter and a lot of love.

Here's to many more years to come!

Happy birthday, Kyle!

Happy birthday to my wonderful husband!
(Doesn't he look good in a cowboy hat?!)

Hayden's First Birthday Party

Our friends, Shelley and Ray, threw a first birthday party for their daughter, Hayden, this morning.

The Dunlops came to celebrate - I can't believe how big Tria is getting.  She'll be three months old in a few days.

Shelley helps her little girl open birthday gifts.

Kyle and I gave her a cell phone!

 Happy birthday, sweet girl!

Mystic Beach

As this was the first weekend of 2012 that we were both feeling healthy, we decided to take advantage of it - rainy weather or not - and go for a hike at Mystic Beach

We popped by the Dunlop's house on our way and picked up Keora so she could join us on  the hike.

By the time we arrived the rain had subsided and was more of a misty sprinkling than actual rain.

Suspension bridge that Keora did not like one bit - She walked across so cautiously and practically ran to the end when she got close.

  Below the bridge

Huge uprooted tree that was lying by the path

Keora was so good during the hike.  She was off-leash for most of the time, but made sure to stop and wait for us if she got too far ahead (though I think she was trying to tell us to hurry up.)

This stairway down to the beach was cut out of a fallen tree.

We explored the beach some time - Kyle loved this waterfall!

That waterfall looks a lot bigger with Kyle standing next to it

That sure looks like one happy pooch!

Keora waits for Kyle to throw the toy for her to fetch

They argue about who is going to get it out from under the mini-waterfall... Finally Kyle had to fish it out with a stick because Keora refused to get wet!

Debris from a passing ship, or from the Japanese tsunami?

After we finished a picnic lunch on the beach we started our hike back to the car.  The recent update to this part of the trail was very appreciated!

Especially considering this is what was being replaced.

Keora was tuckered out by the time we got back to the car.
We'd never been to Mystic Beach before but it turned out to be a great trail for a day hike!

New Years Eve

We decided about six weeks before New Years that we wanted to get dressed up and go out!  We bought tickets to the Canoe Club's New Years Eve party, and had a great time playing pool, dancing to awesome music the live band played and rung in the new year with a bunch of our friends!

Cheers!

Happy New Year!!
