Manzanillo - Caribbean Coast

After an unremarkable stay at Hotel Pura Vida in Puerto Viejo, We headed further south to the "town" of Manzanillo - Which consisted of two restaurant/bars, a few lodges/cabins and a healthy dose of Rasta vibes (and smells!)

Michelle & a big tree
The first day we mostly hung out at the beach. I snorkelled and Michelle lay in the sun. The second day we hiked the local national park (don't remember the name off hand). Michelle thinks we got lost, but I knew where we were the whole time (next to the ocean!)

On the way out of town we hiked at Parque Nacional Cahuita, where we found lots of raccoons, capuchin monkeys and even a sloth!

A couple more pictures from Casa Rio Blanca

Michelle here! Kyle and I are going to be way behind in posting pictures, but here are a couple more from our first stop - Casa Rio Blanco!

On Day 2 we took a little hike down to Rio Blanco (the river by our B&B) for a swim.

Day 3 - Leaving Casa Rio Blanco to head off to our next stop. Only a 3.5-ish hour drive to the beach town Punta Vierjo on the Caribbean Coast.

The view from our Cabana

The view from our Cabana the next morning - Its a steep cliff down to the River below, but the trees and vines are so dense you can barely tell. The sound of the river and the crickets made for a great sleep, even if the mattress was a little pokey (springs)

First night - dinner at Cabanas Rio Blanco

We finally made it to Casa Rio Blanco, though it was dark long before we got there.
Google & Garmin didn't take into account the San Jose traffic and construction!
Our Hosts, Herbie and Annette made dinner for us.

Got our car!

Got our car - a Suzuki Jimny - in San Jose. It was brand new, with less than 1000km on it! I'm sure it'll be a little worse for wear after we're done with it.

(not our actual Jimny, but looks just like it!)

Getting out of San Jose was a bit of an adventure. If we don't have to drive in a city again till the day we leave I'll be happy!

Waiting for our flight out of Charlotte

We had "Great American Bagel" for breakfast, which we figured was just a ripoff of the Great Canadian Bagel
